“Be the change you want to see in the world” – Mahatma Gandhi
Save the Quest is back with another event marking a social cause. STQ has been working towards the development of Visually Impaired students for the past few years. White Cane Safety Day is a national observance in the United States, celebrated on October 15 of each year since 1964. We have been inspired by it since the date is set aside to celebrate the achievements of people who are blind or visually impaired and the important symbol of their tool of independence- the white cane.
Save The Quest in collaboration with NSS Hindu College, will be celebrating White Cane Safety Day on 13th October. The Walk-A-Thon: which is the Fourth Edition of our walk on the international White Cane Day, is an event where we would be highlighting the importance of white canes in the lives of the blind people. ‘Project eye Quest’ is our project through which we work for the visually impaired. White canes gives them a sense of security and they feel independent with it.
We would host a Blind-Fold Walk-A-Thon followed by a Photo and a Video Campaign, and also a Signature Campaign. There will be a cultural event wherein Diwakar Sharma of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa fame will be there to perform for the cause.
Lets join hands to make this world a better place to live in.
